Allotment gardening can be so rewarding, and we are so lucky to be able to do it. Not everyone can – through time, pressures, commitments, ill health, infirmity, age. So (I think) we active gardeners have a duty of sharing the site – keeping it welcoming, with paths easily walked by anyone and seating for relaxation, with events for visitors to appreciate the gardening, and also the landscape and natural history of the allotments and the churchyard, as well as the medieval church and the admirable mental health hub, which is St Margaret’s Centre.
